I spent the last week of July at my final residency in Gunnison, Colorado, and then on Friday, I graduated with my MFA! The creative writing program at Western Colorado University is truly special, and my cohort is an amazing group of talented, generous, and supportive people. I already miss them terribly. After graduation, I felt all the feels, from excitement and pride in the accomplishment to profound sadness that this journey is over. My writer pals and I immediately started a monthly Zoom book club to help us stay connected, and I have a feeling we’ll remain each other’s beta readers and cheerleaders as we navigate the changing world of writing and publishing.
Since we now live only a few minutes from Dodgers stadium, we’ve decided to support the home team, that is unless the Red Sox come to town! Well, they were here this weekend and swept the series! We had great seats on Saturday night, and we enthusiastically watched the other games from our favorite sports bar in town and from out living room couch. I’ll admit, I doubted the Sox would turn the season around quite so spectacularly, but their comeback story is pretty great so far. Let’s go, Red Sox!
I’ll be at World Con in LA from August 27-31. I have a virtual reading and three panels scheduled for the weekend with more details posted on my Instagram page. I’m not selling or signing books this time, as that was just one too many things to get organized this summer, but I’ll be around to chat and hang out, so if you’re in the area, please feel free to message me.
My alter ego, Maggie Clare, has another new book releasing on September 8th! If the steamy stuff is your jam, Imminent Threat is available for pre-order now. There will be one more book in this romantic suspense series, which I hope to have ready by December. My schedule might be a little optimistic, but now that school’s out, I think I can get it done!
